ABOUT MATT

Hey! I'm Matt Druce. You might know me from Guitar & Bass Lessons with Matt Druce. Since I was a kid I've thought there were three things in the world that were cooler than anything else - guitar, animals, and video games. I chose my path in life and started learning guitar at around 10 years old and have stuck with it ever since, resulting in an expansive pool of knowledge surrounding the instrument and music as a whole. Sharing the knowledge I have gathered over the years brings me great satisfaction, and I enjoy seeing my students develop their skills. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from UON, and also run a small indie record label.

When it comes to learning music, I believe keeping an open mind is of the utmost importance, and therefore I am familiar with many different styles, artists and techniques. I would say my approach to teaching is enjoyment-oriented, and based heavily on what each student wants to achieve. Learning anything is SO much easier if it is rewarding. Of course I still stress the importance of proper technique and strong fundamentals, but I recognise that each person learns differently and I am excited to support them to do so.
